Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley
Morning departure from your riad in Marrakech. We cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains. Visit the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous filming location. We then pass through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses, ending the day in the scenic Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Sahara Desert
After breakfast, we drive to the towering Todra Gorges for a short walk beneath the massive rock walls. We then continue south towards the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Upon arrival, you will mount your camels for a trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp, enjoying Berber music around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga - Ziz Valley - Cedar Forest - Fes
Wake up early to witness a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast, we depart for Fes. The scenic drive takes us up through the palm-fringed Ziz Valley, across the Middle Atlas Mountains, and into the cedar forests of Azrou, where we may spot wild Barbary macaques. Late afternoon arrival in Fes, where you will check into your elegant riad.
Day 4: Full Day Guided Tour of Fes Medina
Spend a full day exploring Fes with an expert local guide. You will step back in time as you navigate the labyrinthine alleys of Fes el Bali, the world's largest car-free urban zone. Highlights include the famous Chouara Tannery, the magnificent Bou Inania Medersa, vibrant souks, and artisanal workshops showcasing traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.
Day 5: Fes - Volubilis - Meknes - Return to Marrakech or Casablanca
On our final day, we visit the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, known for their beautiful mosaics. Next, we stop in the quiet imperial city of Meknes to see the grand Bab Mansour gate. Finally, we set off on a comfortable highway journey, concluding your tour with a drop-off at your accommodation or airport in Marrakech or Casablanca.
